A Docent's Guide

Working with the Union League of Philadelphia, I led the design team that produced A Docent's Guide to the Union League of Philadelphia. The 100-page walking tour of the Club's prestigious collection of Civil War art and artifacts. The book paces similarly to an actual docent tour of the League. Each chapter of the book opens up with a floorplan and numeric references to art in that section, so you can use it as a guide as you walk the hallways of the historic club. The League's head docent provided his own insight and favorite bits of history, which we've highlighted in the book with a bowtie, his token choice of everyday attire. Covering art, food, and culture, the book tells the history of the Union League of Philadelphia down to every detail. The book was produced in case-bound and soft-bound versions. The case-bound book is faux leather wrapped with gold foil on the spine and back cover. The front of the book is debossed with a Scodix printed metallic tip on. Silver foil was used on the endpapers to highlight original architectural elevations dating back to 1865 used as a pattern.
